Samsung 990 EVO 2TB M.2 SSD

Samsung 990 EVO 2TB M.2 SSD is a high-performance storage solution designed to meet the demands of modern computing. With a substantial storage capacity of 2048 GB (1863 GiB), it provides ample space for a wide range of applications, including gaming, content creation, and data-heavy tasks. This SSD is equipped with a pSLC cache of approximately 120 GB, which helps to accelerate write operations and maintain high performance during intensive workloads. The SSD boasts impressive read and write speeds, with a maximum read speed of 5000 MB/s and a write speed of 4200 MB/s. These speeds ensure that data is accessed and transferred quickly, making the 990 EVO an excellent choice for users who need fast access to large files or applications. The drive utilizes a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, which is known for its high bandwidth and low latency, further enhancing the overall performance of the SSD. The Samsung 990 EVO uses a M.2 2280 form factor, which is compatible with a wide range of motherboards and laptops. This form factor is particularly popular in modern devices due to its compact size and ease of installation. The SSD is built using TLC (Triple-Level Cell) NAND memory, which provides a good balance between performance, endurance, and cost. Unlike some other high-end SSDs, the 990 EVO does not include a DRAM cache, which is typically used to further enhance speed and responsiveness. However, the absence of a DRAM cache is offset by the drive's efficient design and use of pSLC caching. One of the key durability metrics for SSDs is the Total Bytes Written (TBW) rating, which indicates how much data can be written to the drive over its lifespan. The Samsung 990 EVO offers a TBW rating of 1200 terabytes, making it a durable choice for users who anticipate heavy write workloads. This rating ensures that the drive can handle a significant amount of data writing without degrading in performance or reliability. Overall, the Samsung 990 EVO 2TB M.2 SSD is a robust and reliable storage option, offering a blend of speed, capacity, and durability. It is well-suited for users who require fast data access and high storage capacity, whether for gaming, professional work, or general computing needs.
